The 2011 Country Music Award winners are in. This year’s awards highlighted some of the best country music artist of our time. In addition to the award winners, there were 3 country music inductees into the Country Music hall of Fame. Read on to see if your favorite country music stars were honored with awards this year.

This year Taylor Swift has had 5 nominations and took home the Entertainer of the Year Award. She is considered to be Country Music’s Sweetheart, replacing many deserving musicians before her. Taylor consistently produces numerous hits, one after another.

Female Vocalist of the year went deservedly to Miranda Lambert. Miranda has continued to climb up country music charts since 2005 with her hit Kerosene. The next chance to see Miranda Lambert live will be in Las Vegas Nevada on December 3rd.

Blake Shelton Humbly accepted Male Vocalist of the Year. He is on tour through April 28th of 2012, with his next show tomorrow in Orlando at the Citrus Bowl. If you’re unable to see Blake live, you can pick up his new album God Gave Me You at any major store.

The Band Perry manage to take home 3 awards this year. Their awards included New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year with their hit If I Die Young. This new band has been making great strides in becoming a major player in country music.

Lady Antebellum graciously accepted the Vocal Group of the Year Award. If you haven’t had a chance to see them play live, they’re currently on tour and in fact are playing today in Macon Georgia. Visit their website to check for tour dates near you.

Vocal Duo of the Year went to Sugarland. They have recently come off of their tour with the last show date on October 28th. They’ll be returning to the stage on June 22, 2012 in Cadott Wisconsin for Country Fest.

Jason Aldean has taken two awards this year. He won Album of the Year with My Kind of Party and Musical Event of the Year with Don’t You Want to Stay. Kelly Clarkson was a co-award winner with My Kind of Party.
Mac McAnally took the award for Musician of the Year. If you aren’t familiar with him, he has a several albums and has written many hit songs for other popular musicians. To date Mac is still one of the most sought after songwriters in Nashville.
New Inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame include Reba McEntire, Jean Shepard and Bobby Braddock. All three of these musicians have lived a life immersed in country music and are deserving of this great honor. Be sure to check back for upcoming Bio’s for these three inductees.
