Love Songs For Lovers:
My all-time favorite love song is "Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter. I know it's kind of a silly song, but then I was just barely grown and I sure thought I was feeling love for the first time. Don't laugh, but I even had to go buy a bottle of Strawberry Wine.
My Runner up for Country love songs would have to be Love Me by Collin Raye. The lyrics in this song are amazing and speak of an undying love. To this day I choke up a little when they get to the part when his grandfather kneeled on a tree at the funeral.
As for my mentionable country love song, I'd have to choose Shameless by Garth Brooks. I sure it's obvious, I like a million other woman felt my heart melt every time he belted out those lines. That and I only hoped I could somehow make someone half as shameless as he was someday. Of course my husband swears he is shameless, but sometimes I think he's just saying that.
Love Songs for Broken Hearts:
My all-time heart wrenching country song would have to be "A Picture of Me Without You" by Lorrie Morgan. I know this song was originally sung by George Jones, however the version I know is sung by Lorrie Morgan. This song to this day has the potential risk of ripping my heart out.
My very close second is "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. This song has everything in it that we have all secretly wished at one time or another. Fortunately, Carrie Underwood did it all in the video so we're able to live vicariously through her.
My third all-time favorite is none other than "Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus. I know I should avoid admitting that one, come on we all have are faults don't we? Since I'm admitting my faults here, I even at one time knew the Achy Breaky dance.
Those are my favorite songs on either side of love. Do you have any favorites you can share, if for no other reason than to replace my Achy Breaky Heart song. There's plenty more that should probably be added here.
