Taylor Swift during an interview with 60 Minutes Overtime, discussed her choice not to drink or use substances and the importance of using her fame to be a role model among many other topics. The complete interview will be aired on November 20, 2011, so make sure you find time to see her discusses alcohol, substances and why they’re just not smart.
Now we know why Taylor Swift continuous to climb to the tops, winning awards making great music and everything in between. She truly is a role model to young fans everywhere. It’s about time that we have a young star that can be looked up to. Hopefully, future country music stars will follow in her footsteps.
When I think of Taylor Swift and many stars in line with her, I can see a change in country music. A welcomed change. I remember when the songs were about drinking and cheating and who knows what else. I remember fallen stars that just couldn’t in the words of Johnny Cash, “walk the line”. Of course as it turns out, neither could he. I know, there are country music musicians that have just disappeared.
I’m certain that drugs and alcohol isn’t always the problem, it is enough of time though. Look at Willie nelson, Not to speak ill of him, it’s just he could have been a legend and used that to set an example, a standard even. Instead he uses his fame to proudly go on TV and announce his love of weed. Way to go Willie. I’m thrilled to see that, those days of country music are falling far behind us.
